The Commission: To host a programme of workshops at Lowry High School and engage with a selected group of pupils to design vehicular and pedestrian gates for the school in partnership with the landscape architect for Salford, Paul McAbee.

Special about this project: the rich process of idea and artwork development leading to the final design. The pupils were taken to the fabricators’ workshop and allowed to have a go with welding equipment.
