The Commission: to work with local youth clubs for a 12 week period and design and fabricate six bespoke stainless steel seats, four stainless steel entrance archway features and a series of stainless steel decorative fence panels to feature in the play area perimeter fencing.

Special about this project: The research, consultation and workshop time for this project was extensive. The two youth club groups involved enjoyed researching the subject and learned so much about life for children working in Lancashire mills around the turn of the century. They were able to see how working methods in the textile industry developed and make reference to this knowledge in the creative activities that led to the final designs.
